It was the best day ever
Let me tell you about the awesome day I had yesterday :)
For once I got up to sleep in on a weekday because my registrar told me to not bother coming in this week because I have exam study going on (awesome reg is awesome). I still had to go in to hospital at around 11 because my consultant wanted to mark my form and give me feedback. Which meant… I am now free from general medicine! :D I handed in all my forms and access card etc and I officially only have exams left for 4th year~ So that was pretty sweet.
After that I thought it would be a good idea to get a haircut before going into serious exam mode, so I took a nice drive to Browns Bay and did just that. While I was in North Shore, I visited a Korean alterations shop because my bag had a pocket with lots of seams that were torn, and I don’t have a sewing machine to repair it. The nice lady there sewed it up instantly - free of charge!
The best part was that the weather was pretty nice, which always just boosts your happiness twofold. By the time I got home, I was pretty damn hungry so I went across the road from my place to a Japanese place called Tatsumi, because I saw a sign that said $20 bento (and the food was amazing the last time I went). I know, it’s weird that I went to a restaurant by myself, but I do that on a frequent basis… XD Anyway, the bento was amazing, with lots of variety like fancy appetisers and a delicious pudding~ Here’s some photos!
I was already in a super mood by this stage and I thought “why not make it even better?” and proceeded to play some Guild Wars 2 awww yeah. Yeah, it’s kinda worrying that I’ve played a significantly greater amount of GW2 compared to my friends who don’t have exams… But it’s SO MUCH FUN.
In the evening, I went over to uni to give a talk to a big group of 1st year biomedical science students because their interviews for applying to medicine was near. It was filled with useful tips, advices on life, and generally inspirational. Kind of like this:
Well, I did get told off by my friend last year for scaring the 1st years too much, so I had to tone it down a teensy bit haha. Still, they told me they found it very helpful and funny, so that’s nice haha. And I think I did still scare them a bit >D
Afterwards, I caught up with the 5th year who taught me heaps during general medicine and a friend in 1st year who came to the talk. I went to dinner with him and some of the other 1st years and gave them some more life tips regarding medicine haha.
After having such an awesome day, I just couldn’t let myself ruin it with study…so…I didn’t study and just went to sleep XD Perfect day~!
Also, did I mention that I upgraded my Galaxy Note to Jelly Bean? It’s SO SEXYYYY. Awww yiss.
Anyway, I have to buckle down starting today because I’ve finished general medicine and I’ve finished going over all my notes the first time. My study pattern is: read through everything once -> read through everything again (quadruple speed) -> do past papers. It’s proven to be super effective so far! Sooo back to study. Or Guild Wars 2. Don’t judge me…
Hope y’all have a great day!
PS: haven’t had time to write ARK posts in my usual daily pattern because of study… >< I’ll try to squeeze some time in somewhere to get a post or two out, but don’t expect too much until I finish my exams, 22nd of November! Oh god I can’t wait. Until then, you should totally read ARK, maybe from the start if you’ve only recently started following my blog :) http://jinavie.tumblr.com/tagged/ark/chrono
